Roll Call

Please leave a comment if you would like to participate in this online book group. Since I am the only member right now I am going to make an executive decision as to the first book we'll read.
So here it is:
1984 by George Orwell is probably one of my favorite books...I have read it quite a few times and I would like to again -
I think how we'll work it is to read the book and then come online and post our opinions here the first week of February. We'll see how this works and then go from there!
Happy Reading!

I'll give it a try--I'm already apart of 2 book clubs along with all the reading I have to do with Seminary. Like I said..I'll give it a try and we'll see where it goes.

P.S. One book that I just finished reading and absolutley love is "My Antonia" by Willa Cather. That is another idea for a book. The book that I have just started for my other book club is "The Women in White" by Wilkie Collins. I'm only in the 3rd chapter and it has already captured my attention from the get go.

Well, gotta go, I need to head to Seminary.

Hi Holly, I would love to participate but I have a request can you let me know if the books are "clean", If we are reading something you have already read or are familiar with? I have been in some book groups before but I always end up pulling out because we read some book that are a bit on the R rated side and no one bothers to let anyone know if the book has some questionable content. I know that there are some great books out there that do have some descriptive, less then PG rated material but I just request that if you are planing on reading something with a lot of it if you can let us know in advance so we can choose weather or not we want to read it. Sorry but Riley reads a lot of my stuff especially if it is out and I am just trying to be really careful about what reading material I have in our home. Thanks so much!!!

I would, but I get about 1-2 books read a year. I'm very slow and you would hate me for it. By the way, 1984 has to be one of my favorite books of all time. I am utterly obsessed with dystopic novels and it by far the best out there.

Sounds like fun, And I am with Brianna, on the content of the books. Let me suggest one, my favorite book of all time Beauty by Robin McInley retelling of the story of Beauty and the Beast. Beauty loves her family, can't wait to return to see them, no dysfunctional family here. Great read for any age.
